Boiled Plantains | 3 (remove the skin and grate the plantain) |
Onion | 1 finely chopped |
Green chillies | 2 finely chopped |
Seasonings | ½ tsp Red chilli powder ¼ tsp Turmeric 2. tsp Salt |
Fresh herbs | Handful of chopped cilantro and mint chopped |
Lime juice | 1 |
Garam masala | Dry roast : 4 cloves 2 elachi ½ inch cinnamon 1tsp poppy seeds 1tbsp dry coconut powder (Grind into fine powder) |
Oil | As required (shallow frying only) |
* Boil the plantains in a pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles over high flame.
* Allow to cool down, remove the skin and grate the boil plantains without any lumps.
* Add onions, green chilies, herbs, lime juice, garam masala and seasonings.
* Combine all ingredients very well.
* Divide mixture into 12 to 15 equal portions.
* Shape the divided mixture into desired shapes or patties.
*Heat 2tbsp of oil in a wide non stick pan.
*Arrange the patties and fry on high to medium flame till both sides turn semi crispy and golden in color.
*Serve hot as a side dish or snack.
